From Section to Site: What to Expect

Here’s what a typical new build process with Rise Residential would generally look like:

  1. Discovery + Consultation

We discover your goals, budget, timeline, and site requirements. This is where we help you create a realistic plan from a local knowledge and buildability perspective.

  1. Design + Consent

You can either use your own architect or our architectural service. Either way, we’ll work with you to create a compliant, cost-effective design that meets both your vision and local council regulations.

  1. Costing + Contract

We provide you with a detailed breakdown of costs, along with definite timeframes and build stages. For the majority of builds, we can offer fixed-price contracts to protect your investment.

  1. Construction Begins

Our team of Licensed Building Practitioners and carefully chosen subcontractors commence the build, overseen by a dedicated site manager. You’ll receive regular updates and on-site walk-throughs.

  1. Completion + Handover

Once your home is complete, we oversee the final inspections, sign-off, and issue of your Code Compliance Certificate.

Advice on Building a New Home

Christchurch is a fantastic city to live in — but building here demands unique regulatory compliance.

We walk you through:

  • TC1, TC2 and TC3 land classifications
  • Foundation systems suited to liquefaction-prone land
  • Building to exceed earthquake resilience standards
  • Compliance with Christchurch and Selwyn District Plans
  • Stormwater management, minimum floor levels, and setbacks

Because we’re locals, we understand the land, council processes, and the dynamics of building in Canterbury.
